CTWeek side event - Good Practices in Countering Terrorism and its Financing in Low-Capacity and Exposed Contexts: Strengthening Capacity, Enhancing Operational Cooperation and Ensuring Balanced Implementation of International Standards

Event Date(s)
:

Recent reports of the United Nations and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) highlight how terrorist actors exploit institutional and regulatory vulnerabilities in low capacity and exposed environments, where rapid digitalization and limited resources hinder effective responses. This CT Week side event “Countering Terrorism and its Financing in Low Capacity and Exposed Contexts” will bring together Member States, international and regional bodies, centers of excellence, civil society and academia to discuss the increasingly diffuse and adaptive nature of terrorist financing threats and effects on low-capacity and exposed counties.

Led by the Islamic Military Coalition (IMCTC), the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and supported by 蘑菇视频OCT and the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC), the event will explore how capacity building, operational cooperation, and risk based implementation of international standards can strengthen national resilience while safeguarding financial inclusion and humanitarian space.

This event is organized on the margins of the 2026 Counter-Terrorism week (CT Week). For more information visit: www.un.org/counterterrorism/en/2026-counter-terrorism-week
