Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Office of Counter-Terrorism (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵOCT), held in collaboration with the Programme Management Center of the Philippines¡¯ Anti-Terrorism Council , the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT), a national workshop on strengthening public-private partnerships to address the use of new technologies for terrorist purposes in the Philippines.

The workshop was held in Manila from 4 to 5 June 2026 under the CT TECH+ initiative, which is jointly implemented by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵOCT, through its Global Counter-Terrorism Programme on Cybersecurity and New Technologies, and INTERPOL. Funded by the European Union, CT TECH+ aims to improve Member States¡¯ response to the increased misuse of new technologies for terrorist purposes, while protecting human rights and in a gender-responsive manner.

Bringing together officials from national law enforcement agencies of the Philippines and the private sector, the workshop aimed to reinforce collaboration in countering terrorism, especially for harnessing innovative technological solutions and fostering information sharing.

The training promoted good practices in establishing cooperation between government agencies and the private sector, reflected in the CT TECH handbook on establishing public-private partnerships to counter the use of new technologies for terrorist purposes.

The workshop culminated in a scenario-based tabletop exercise to identify gaps in responses to terrorist exploitation of online spaces and propose solutions for stronger coordination and synergies in protecting societies from terrorist threats online and offline.
